Active stations from ARPA Lombardia integrated in CEMS MDCC in April 2024

185 active stations from the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment of Lombardy have been integrated into the data collection.

In April 2024, the CEMS MDCC team successfully incorporated meteorological data sourced from the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment of Lombardy (ARPA Lombardia, Italy) into their operational processing procedures. ARPA Lombardia supplies precipitation data with a temporal resolution of 10 minutes. The data from 185 active meteorological stations are imported into the CEMS MDCC database on a daily basis. Subsequently, this data undergoes processing and is integrated into the gridded precipitation fields generated daily. These fields serve as crucial inputs for EFAS forecasts and EFFIS operations.

Information on how meteorological data are used in EFAS, and on data collection and transfer methods are available here.

CEMS MDCC extends heartfelt appreciation to ARPA Lombardia for their invaluable data provision and for facilitating access to their servers.
